Speakers

Borek Bernard

Borek is a software developer from the Czech Republic with strong interest in best practices, proper tooling, etc. With his team, he is currently working on VersionPress, a version control plugin that hopes to improve how WordPress sites are managed.

Dan Maby

Dan is a director at Blue 37 – a WordPress specialist agency. He’s also the founder & trustee of WP&UP – a charity that supports & promotes positive mental health within the WordPress community.

You’ll find him organising WordCamps and Meetups throughout the UK. He thrives on business development and project management, as well as having a passion for seeing success within others.

Dan Westall

Dan is a WordPress Engineer @ Human Made, who has been known to talk about WordPress Customiser, using WordPress for eSports, and Web Sockets, but not always in that order.

Diane Wallace

Diane is a freelance WordPress Theme and plugin developer. She specialises in bespoke WordPress plugins and themes and is passionate about creating beautiful, responsive, user friendly designs.

Diane loves developing with WordPress and being part of the amazing, inclusive and friendly WordPress community.

Hugo Ashmore

Hugo supports the BuddyPress project and will be sharing the latest news with everyone, talking about recent releases and ideas for the future. It’s a great opportunity to get all your BuddyPress questions answered, and to learn about how you can contribute back to the project.

Paul Gibbs

Paul is the lead developer for the BuddyPress project and will be sharing the latest news with everyone, talking about recent releases and ideas for the future. It’s a great opportunity to get all your BuddyPress questions answered, and to learn about how you can contribute back to the project.

Graham Armfield

Graham is a Web Accessibility Consultant for his own company Coolfields Consulting. He work with organisations to help them improve the accessibility of their websites – testing the websites for accessibility, and advising the designers and developers on how to fix issues found. He has also written detailed training courses on accessibility for developers which he presents on a regular basis.

He’s also a WordPress developer, and I’ve built many accessible WordPress websites for clients.

Mik Scarlet

With over 30 years in the media Mik was one of the first well known disabled people to appear on TV in the UK, working on shows such as Beat That, From The Edge, The Travel Show, BBC News and C5 News.  Alongside his media career he is one of the UK’s leading access and inclusion experts.  He advises major companies and government bodies on how to create and maintain systems that ensure disabled people, and all other protected characteristics as described by the Equality Act 2010, are fully included in society.

Gary Jones

Gary Jones is a UK-based WordPress Engineer, educator, code consultant, and proud father of twins. Driven by a passion for excellence, he creates elegant WordPress plugins and theme solutions for clients, and provides services, including code audits, for other designers and developers. He has worked on projects for SiteGround, Yoast, StudioPress, Web Savvy Marketing, Daniels Trading, Rolls-Royce and many smaller design and development agencies and individuals.

Gary is a key contributor to the Genesis Framework and has contributed to most major branches of WordPress Core since 3.3. He has contributed to many open source projects in the community, and is a co-host on the UK Genesis podcast.

A former teacher in schools and prisons, Gary’s goal is to educate WordPress professionals on how they can improve their code. His motto is knowledge is power.
